The Battery

The battery in the Chevrolet Volt is a lithium-ion battery pack that was crafted specially for the Volt. It can be recharged even if it isn't completely depleted. If the battery runs out of charge while you're driving, a gas powered generator kicks in to recharge the battery and power the car.
