Dear Mr. Uftring,
During these difficult times, it only made sense to me that I send you a note to compliment the service staff at the Washington Chevrolet-Saab dealership. At the end of March, a week before our family was to leave on a driving vacation to the East coast; our 2004 Trailblazer?s dashboard began to malfunction. We had purchased the vehicle two years ago from a salesperson from Jim McComb Chevrolet, at a sale at the East Peoria Event Center, and have been very happy with our purchase. When we purchased the vehicle, we also bought an extended warranty along with it. It seemed like a lot of money at the time, but in hindsight, the decision was brilliant! My regular mechanic (which happens to be a relative), tried to help, but determined that it was a ?wiring cluster?, and needed to go to the dealership as a possible warranty fix. I must admit that I was a little concerned because of the time we had left before our planned departure, and the unknown as to if the trip would even be possible.
I just want to express how very professional, nice and helpful each person I had contact with was. From the folks at Jim McComb who directed me to the service at the Washington dealership (I live, work and have a son at school in East Peoria, and didn?t have time to run back and forth to Peoria), to Flo, who answered my panicked phone call and helped get me to the right people. There was John Frye, who ?held my hand? during the whole ordeal, and made the process pleasant, and Kyle who fixed me up with a vehicle while mine was being repaired. Even your sales staff were kind enough to indulge my son and talk to him about the ?cool Corvettes and Harleys? in the showroom while we waited, even buying him a treat. Not to mention the super mechanic, who diagnosed the problem and then worked at ?pit stop? speed and got us back on the road again in a day! During this whole ordeal, I was constantly greeted with warm smiles and the best of service.
As I said before, I wanted to take a moment to let you know that as I looked at each and every one of your employees, they all seemed happy, helpful and that matters to me as a consumer. We don?t take time anymore to let a business know that they are a pleasure to do business with, and I think we should. I can tell you that when I am ready for my next vehicle, one of your dealerships will be the first place to go, and I am confident to recommend Uftring Auto Group to anyone who is considering buying a vehicle. (Although being an old Camaro owner from the early seventies (I have owned seven of them), I keep looking at the most recent addition.)
Thank you and your staff once again, as I truly appreciated their attitudes and efforts. Our trip out East was wonderful, relaxing and exactly what our family needed. And because of the outstanding service we received, we were able to see more of the U.S.A. in our Chevrolet!

Dear Lee - Thank you very much for assisting Lyn and I with the purchase of our Suburban. Since we seem to keep our vehicles for a very long time, we seldom visit dealerships or talk to sales representatives. I have to tell you, after Lyn and I initially spoke with you about your dealership?s Suburban, we drove to another dealership and inquired about a different Suburban. Part of our decision to buy the Suburban from you and the Uftring dealership was because of your professionalism and your guarantee of assistance with the vehicle for years to come. Dear Lee - We would like to thank you for making the experience of buying our 2007 Chevy Silverado from Uftring Chevy Saab a pleasant one. Bob has often turned away from buying vehicles in the past due to the pushy sales consultants at other dealers. We were very pleased not to experience that characteristic with you. From the time that Brenda stopped on Friday afternoon to take a quick look at the truck, through our day experience with you on Saturday, we were very pleased at how we were treated. You were very professional and you made us feel very comfortable. You were very knowledgeable and informed on the features of the vehicles and after our test drive, when we noticed a slight problem with wind noise, you were quick to analyze the problem being caused by the aftermarket bug shield on the truck. Since removing the bug shield that day, there has been no wind noise. We couldn?t be happier with our purchase.
Little did we know that after the purchase price was decided, we would be taking our vehicle home the same day. That has never happened to us in our past vehicle buying experiences. It takes running a tight ship to accomplish the sale of a vehicle, financing, and other last minute details to be performed on the same day so that the vehicle can leave with the new owners. Our experience with Ian in the financing department and the service department staff was pleasant . . . everything went without a glitch.
We had a couple of people ask why we went clear to Washington to purchase a vehicle. Washington is Brenda?s home town, and living in a larger city, we would have never received that ?home town? treatment. Thank you again for making us not feel like a customer, but a ?friend.?

Mr. Uftring,
I write this letter with the intention of praising your staff for yet another wonderful buying experience. Since 1999, I have owned/leased a new Saab 9-5, Saab 9-3s, and a Saab 9-7X. I am a loyal Saab owner, obviously. Although I live 100+ miles away from your dealership and could take my business to a dealership in Iowa City which is closer to my home, I find the experiences in every department at Uftring to be worth the extra effort.
Most recently, I purchased a Saab 9-7X from Lee Kerr. I originally had my heart set on a white 2008 9-7X on the lot. With the employee pricing available at the time, I hoped a deal could be formulated. The "numbers" just didn't end up working out in my favor. I know Lee did everything he could. Rather than end our communication there, Lee kept working for me. In less than a few weeks, he called me to say that a 2008 factory executive 9-7X had been purchased at an Indianapolis auction with the "bells and whistles" I wanted and me in mind as the new owner. This time, the "numbers" did work out in my favor. I was given a generous amount for my trade-in on top of a staggering discount off the auction purchase. Lee stepped up to the plate for me, and I couldn't be happier. He knew I was disappointed when the first deal didn't work out, so he kept working to bring your dealership another satisfied customer. Although "satisfied" is an understatement.
Your entire team is fabulous. Everyone from the management team to the finance department to the parts department to the receptionists to the service department is wonderful. Matt, in the service department, like Lee, is such an asset to your dealership.
Hopefully, this letter affirms the pride you have in what you've created at Uftring Chevy-Saab. Thank you for doing what you do. Your business philosophies have to be stellar to instill the wonderful qualities your employees possess.
